The Elephant and Friends Storybook Illustration

Client: Student Project

Challenge: To create an illustration of a scene from an old children’s storybook using shapes.

Description: For this project, I decided to choose The Elephant and Friends, a story about a lonely elephant who wanders around asking for other animals to be friends. I chose the scene where the elephant asks a monkey if they could be friends. Each piece of the illustration consists of shapes put together, making the character simple yet effective. As it’s targeted towards children, I went with a cute look and a friendly, handwritten font.
